Mary Rostad: Nazi Resistance Spy
This online event is hosted by the Stoughton Public Library. Learn about little-known hero Mary Rostad, who joined the Nazi resistance movement when she was only 16 years old. Using the codename “Squirrel,” she walked over 1000 miles in frigid temperatures to carry secret documents across Belgium and France. Holocaust educator Darryle Clott will discuss Mary’s memoir Squirrel Is Alive: A Teenager in the Belgian Resistance and French Underground.
