Innovation Center Stoughton recently signed a lease at 421 E. Main Street. The location fulfills

one of the organization’s main goals is to provide access to tools and training in Science,

Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Manufacturing and advanced technologies.

The space is being outfitted as a Makerspace, but the Board of Directors likes to simply call it an

Innovation Center. “We named our organization Innovation Center Stoughton, knowing we would

have a physical location focused on promoting STEAM learning, R&D, and invention. When

people ask us what the new location is, we say it’s an Innovation Center… in Stoughton.” Mike

Connor, Board President of Innovation Center Stoughton.

The Innovation Center is being outfitted with 3D printers, a kiln for metal 3D printing, laser

cutters/engravers, electronics soldering tools, hand tools, computers with SolidWorks, OnShape,

Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Microsoft Office, a whiteboard, and a TV Screen. Innovation

Center Stoughton Executive Director Katrina Becker is looking forward to seeing the Innovation

Center be put to use, “Our target date to open the space is January 13th. We’ve hired two Tool

Techs to be on site while our members are using the equipment. We expect to see a wide variety

of individuals and families signing up for a membership, from hobbyists to inventors.”
